The St. Athanasius Alumni Association was established in 2001 to provide a link to the past for many of our former students and parishioners, as well as to provide a source of fundraising for current needs for both St. Athanasius Church and St.Athanasius - Immaculate Conception School. If you are a first time visitor to the website, we invite you to look around and stay awhile. If you are an Alumnus, a warm welcome home!
The Chimney Repair Project:
A call to all Alumni....the Chimney of the School is in need of repair and we are asking Alumni for donations to help offset these significant costs. The total cost is estimated at about $45,000, and Father Okonski has asked for some help from the Alumni. Please send donations, in the name of St. A's Alumni, to the attention of Father Okonski. The address is 2050 East Walnut Lane, Philadelphia, Pa. 19138. Your contribution will be greatly appreciated...and then feel free to stop by for Mass and feel like you've truly arrived back home!

Alumni Scholarship Program
Father Okonski announced the creation of an Alumni Scholarship Fund during the All Class Reunion Mass on April 26th. Each year the Alumni Association will contribute money to a deserving student, or students, to help offset the costs of their St. Athanasius tuition. If you would like to contribute directly to the fund, please send donations to Father Okonski, in the name of the St. A's Alumni Association, at the same address as listed in red above.

That you can donate to St. A's via payroll deduction through United Way. We are listed as "St. Athanasius Social Services Administration 1906553"

The Alumni Association announced at its meeting on June 2nd that $5,000 was raised as a result of the Alumni Luncheon of April 26th. Father Okonski has asked that a special THANK YOU be published on the website for all who were so generous with their time and offering.
Father Okonski also announced that a scholarship offering of $2,500 will be made to 8 students (roughly $300 per grade) will be awarded in the name of the Alumni Association to defray the cost of a chosen student's tuition for the upcoming school year.
In addition, a technology upgrade of $2,500 will be made in honor of the Alumni Association to the school.
Again THANK YOU on behalf of Father Okonski and the Alumni Association for your generosity.
Nothing elicits the feelings and memories of St. A's quite as much as the words "May Procession", or just as important the title of the May Queen, or the Crowner as she was known to an older generation of St. A's Alumni. Tim Allen is building a list of May Queen recipients by year. If you know the name of the May Queen from your year, please contact Tim Allen at tallen30@csc.com or at (703) 477-6284.
We have added a new Guestbook feature to our site. The Guest Book is a great way to let us know that you were here. Also, please don't forget to add a comment to the Vietnam Veterans "The Wall-USA" Memorial pages supporting our St. A's Vietnam war heroes who were killed in action. This can by done by clicking in the War Memorial page and then clicking on the individuals names in the lower right hand corner of the page, and then heading out to the Vietnam wall site. It's easy.
A great organization to welcome home returning vets. We salute Charlie Becker '56 for his continuing involvement. See more about Charlie and A Hero's Welcome on our Memorial Page.
The 2009 Christmas Bazaar was a big success...St. A's Alumni were there in full force to lend support. See the Picture of Tommy and Eileen with Santa Claus (Note: Please be patient, it takes a minute or two for the frames to load)
