On May 11, 2009, The Companions on the Journey Award, the highest recognition from the National Federation of Catholic Youth Ministry, was presented to Susan (Barry) Boyle '72, at the Cathedral of Ss. Peter and Paul. This honor is bestowed on adults who exemplify the best attributes of ministry and Catholic teaching to youth. Sue, a member of our Mother of Consolation in Chestnut Hill, PA, was nominated by her parish community and has held leadership roles over the past several years, serving as chair person of various committees on the Parish School’s Home and School Association. For the past four years, Sue also has guided the parish youth as Director of the Parish’s CYO program. Sue, together with her husband, Michael, developed the Pee-Wee Program which reaches out to all parish children from K through 4th grades, all while strengthening and coordinating operation of the parish CYO Program for grades 5th through 12th. Sue continues to make sure all parish children feel a part of the Parish Community by writing and editing the annual CYO Wrap-Up Newsletter. Sue and her husband, Michael, live in Philadelphia and are parents of Brendan ’07, Katherine ’08 and Claire ’13. Congratulations Sue.
